Meet the Founder
Hi, I'm Khuliso Gasa, founder of Calm & Connected.
Calm & Connected was born from a deeply personal season in my life. In 2019, I moved to a new country with my husband and our two children. It was a major life change. Everything felt unfamiliar, from the culture and weather to the reality of building a new life far from what I had always known.
Then COVID-19 hit, and like so many others, I found myself struggling in ways I had never experienced before. My mental health took a real knock. I battled anxiety, burnout, and the emotional weight of trying to keep going while feeling disconnected from myself.
That season was hard, but it also taught me something important: small moments of calm can make a real difference. A pause. A breath. A soft reminder. Something gentle to return to when the day feels heavy.
That is where the idea for Calm & Connected began.
I wanted to create more than just clothing. I wanted to create comfort you can wear. Something soft, grounding, and meaningful. Something that could remind people to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with themselves in the middle of everyday life.
While Calm & Connected came from my personal journey, it would not be what it is without my husband's incredible support and contribution. He has played a massive role in bringing this vision to life and has done so much of the work behind the scenes. His belief in me, his creativity, and his commitment to the brand have been a huge part of this journey, and I am deeply grateful for that. Even though he prefers to remain behind the scenes, his impact on Calm & Connected is woven into its foundation.
This brand is deeply personal to me, but it is also for anyone who has ever felt overwhelmed, emotionally tired, or far from themselves. It is for the people who keep showing up while quietly carrying a lot inside. It is for those who need softness, support, and a reminder that they matter too.
My hope is that Calm & Connected feels like more than what you wear. I hope it feels like a breath, a reminder, and a little comfort on a hard day.
